The start of school marks the beginning of the football NFL season. This season is shaping up to be very interesting, with many promising rookies such as Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, and Marvin Harrison Jr. The hometown Commanders aim to bounce back after a rough season last year, which ended in a record of four wins and thirteen losses. The Commanders improved their roster by acquiring veterans Austin Ekeler and Zach Ertz and drafting former Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels. Currently, the Commanders are projected to end the season with seven wins and ten losses, a step up from last year but not an excellent record overall. However, as the number two overall pick in the draft, Jayden Daniels is expected to captain the offense and improve projection. The Kansas City Chiefs have drafted an overwhelming roster, including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Hollywood Brown, and Rashee Rice.
Last year, the Chiefs were notoriously known in the NFL for the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, bashing their way through the season to win the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year, which they aim to repeat this season. How- ever, the San Francisco 49ers, the runner-ups in last year’s Super Bowl, hope to crush the dreams of the Chiefs’ three-peat with Mr. Irrelevant’s— Brock Purdy—great options at wide receiver with Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and first- round pick Ricky Pearsall. All-pro running back Christain McCaffery is expected to have yet an- other fantastic season, although his checkered past with injuries is cause for concern. Howev- er, the offensive line—except for Trent Williams might be a potential weakness. Overall, the 2024 NFL season is taking shape as one of the best football seasons in a while.
