Freshman football at Georgetown Prep builds strong friendships and skills while creating lasting memories for players. I’ve noticed how many freshmen get excited about joining the team. It’s a big deal for Prep students, it serves as a place where we bond and have fun. The energy during games is palpable, most of the time, you can see stands filled with other freshmen and upperclassmen cheering them on, creating a sense of community that makes everyone feel included.
This season, the freshman team showcases an admirable run with a record of 3-2. They started strong with a win against Bullis, which was exciting for everyone. But it hasn’t all been easy. They faced a tough loss against DeMatha. The final score was 13-29, and you could see how disappointed the players were. That loss really challenged them to step up their game.
Most recently, they played Gonzaga, and unfortunately, they lost again 7-13. That was really upsetting. But these tough moments are preparing them for the future.
They’re learning to bounce back and stay motivated, and this will help them in their next games. The beauty of freshman football lives in the spirit that it’s not just about winning but about learning how to work together as a team. The players support each other on and off the field, and it’s inspiring to see. Being a part of the school spirit and being able to cheer them on is really something special.
Looking ahead, there is excitement about how they will perform against DeMatha in their rematch. Many believe they will come back stronger, and there’s a sense of anticipation to watch them play.
